I've been reading a book that in encouraging me to wait until I am hungry to eat. What a novel idea you say? I sometimes don't know to consider it a blessing or a curse, but rarely in my week do I find myself hungry. I just like to eat and have made it a habit for various reasons. I'm still trying to uncover the reasons I eat more than I need and when I'm not hungry. All the books and articles I've read tell me so many things and most of them ring true in my life at one time or another but what is it that continues to drive me to eat more than I need. Today was a true example of what I believe I need to do and feel. I had a small cup of coffee and a lowfat fruit bar for breakfast around 7am and helped serve at church through the media ministry from 7:30-12. By 11 am I was feeling very hungry but was reminded that my spiritual hunger should be greater and God is simply allowing me to borrow this body that I am in. As I return to my regular routine tomorrow after having a 2 week vacation I pray that God is lifted high and that I stay disciplined.
