Anyone know anything about Tanarind juice?

Comments
Is that Tamarind? Common in Indian cooking. Often candied, or in tea. I don't know much about it, but I like the exotic taste.

I got curious. If you did too, check this out: http://foodfacts.mercola.com/tamarind.html

I love tamarind paste, but would be wary of the juice. Tamarind has many beneficial properties, but many of those are in the pulp and fiber of the pod. The juice extract is mostly fructose, and will spike insulin and blood glucose. As a flavoring, it's tart, acidic and stimulates the appetite. It combines well with capsicum, so a tamarind-based salsa is the bomb.

I have looked into it because my boss made a special juice with it and has been losing weight from this and the other things she is using in it. I have seen many good things about it so I was wanting others advice if they have used to.
