Christinemeowk's Journal, 21 April 2016

So a funny thing was going on with me tonight while I was out walking. About halfway through it started feeling like blood was pooling in my hands and fingers. With every swing of my arms my skin on said areas felt tight and swolen like they could burst if I happened to whack them on something or I made too tight of a fist. I did not enjoy it! Lol

Has anyone else ever experienced anything like that before?

It's a bizarre feeling, that's for sure. This is my first time feeling it in 37 years.

Lucky you :) I always check it by how easy I can put my ring off. Maybe you drank too much water today?

Hmmm,I dunno. It seems to be going in the toilet as quickly as I'm drinking it

My hands also tend to swell with exercise. It helps a little if I remember to flex them periodically.

Thanks. They went back to normal about 10 minutes after returning from my walk. I'm just hoping this doesn't become a trend.

I just Googled it and apparently it's common and nothing to worry about. In fact, some of the results suggest it's to do with warming up and blood vessel dilation which would indicate you're exercising at a fairly strenuous level. I can't post links in replies but Google is your friend on this one.

My legs are screaming this morning. My calves are fine but from the knee up my muscles are hit. It's good though. I know I'm actually doing something on my walks.

You are building muscle! I'm always surprised that simple walking can accomplish this, and it sounds like you are pushing enough to make it happen. Did you get little muscle twitches in your legs when you sat down after? This sometimes happens to me. Go you!

Lol, I didn't even notice. I was too busy checking out my hands and trying to breathe. My walk lastnight was the two regular laps (1 mile) and the mini block where you can cut through towards the end to the street on the other side of the block. I did the same route the night before, but this time I really paid attention to my feet and utilized the rocker bottoms on my shape up shoes. Those things are no joke!
