Tuesday marks 4 weeks in the boot due to stress fractureon the right foot on the big bone by your big toe where you put your weight. Had to go to the ER Monday for a large blood clot which was very unexpected and upsetting, caused by the boot (did you know your calf only pumps blood efficiently when you walk around?). On blood thinners for the next 3 months and no strenuous exercise, which is a huge hit for me. I was making great progress 😭. Going to focus on diet for the next 4 weeks of no weight bearing and hopefully lose some by the time I can get back to normal and rehab. My husband has been so wonderful so I'm very lucky to have his help. Although on the bright side it's winter, so I have time to heal and get back to normal before summer festival season. Huge bummer and really testing my patience, but I know it could be way worse. I really miss lifting and hiking. Stay strong FS Warriors, I'll keep eating my protien and thinking strong!! 🤘💕

I imagine this is frustrating for you. you have such a great attitude, though. You are inspiring; boot or no boot. 💙💙💙

Yep, veins don't have pressure like arteries. They rely on muscle contraction to return the blood to your heart. We weren't built for sedentary lives. My clots didn't form in the legs. They bypassed the legs and formed in my lungs. Both are serious. Take those blood thinners, and don't massage that calf.

Unhealthy daddy, holy shit that's awful, care to share how it happened, if they know? Thank you for the support, no massaging! The meds are definitely doing the job and have overall helped the swelling so so much, I'm so much more comfortable.

That's some scary stuff. My husband hurt his ankle a few years ago and got a bunch of small clots in his calf from being bed ridden. He has to wear compression socks for his damaged veins. 😖 Hope you recover soon!

I learned about blood clots the hard way too! Mine formed in my lower legs, broke off, travelled through my heart and lodged in my lungs. Was in hospital for 2 weeks and on blood thinners for 9 months. Im glad you found yours and started the blood thinners before they caused any more trouble! I wish you all the best and a quick recovery!

Could you possibly swim?

I've done some time in a boot years back. Two weeks was the longest run, even sleeping in the thing. I now make do with a surgical shoe when a foot goes south. I didn't know about the blood flow issue! Here at almost 71, my newest thing is going numb from waist to feet after standing 5-7 minutes. Not liking the pain and that at all...Hope you heal quickly!
