Shrinking Sonya's Journal, 18 August 2009

UGH. I am so upset with myself. Usually I have a nice big bowl of healthy cereal with skim milk for breakfast, but today I was almost out of cereal and didn't have enough to be a complete breakfast (I put 1 serving on my diet journal, but it def. wasn't that much!). So I told myself it would be okay, I would just eat one of my Special K bars when I got to work and that would complete my breakfast. However, on the way to work, my hunger clouded my judgement and I stopped at BOJANGLES and got TWO ham biscuits which were on sale. Grrr... I'm so disapointed! Thankfully, after devouring the first one, I realized it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. So I ate the ham out of the other one and threw the biscuit away. But I am so devastated. What in the world would come over me to make me do that?! I have been rock solid for 4 weeks now and I decide to fall off the wagon the day before weigh-in?! I'm so disgusted.

Congratulations on your judgement. It's okay to do something different sometimes. We all have weaknesses. It's okay to go to Bojangles. And it's hard to retrain ourselves. If it were easy, everyone could and would do it! So you got 2 ham biscuits. You ate one and ate the ham out of the other. You did not eat two full ham biscuits. I'm very proud of you! Sometimes our bodies CRAVE things that are bad for us if we ate them all the time. You've had your Bojangles. Good for you. Tomorrow, jump back on the cereal or Special K bar breakfast. You haven't messed up your whole entire plan. "It's not real estate." (best quote from a Weight Watchers meeting) Forgive yourself....give yourself grace, and move forward. Quit beating yourself up. If you feel you still need to do something, up your water intake or take a walk this afternoon. Again....breathe. You will be just fine...and thin. :)

You know, its okay to make mistakes. After you feel like you make a mistake, jump back in for the next meal and eat right. You are gonna have days that you slip, no one is perfect at this and no it isn't easy, but you keep pushing, you keep going and each time it gets better and better. Whatever you do, don't give up.

Thanks Shia! Don't worry- I have healthy food stocked and ready for lunch, dinner and snacks. I'm not giving up! That was just a moment of weakness I guess. But it does suck that it was the day before weigh-in. That's the worst part!
