adiannen's Journal, 18 July 2011

This is an interesting process. I'm learning that the number on the scale doesn't define my journey. There are many changes to my body that aren't all weight related. As long as I stay consistent, keep exercising, and eating reasonably healthy the numbers will eventually go down. I'm not joining anymore weigh everday challenges because I find that puts way too much pressure on me. I'm getting cuts in places I've never had them in before, I'm not getting as out of breath walking up a flight of stairs, I can play with my daughter longer, and I'm enjoying my trips to the gym. These are major milestones for me and I'm proud of myself (pats self on back). I'm forging new relationships with people who also value their health and that is keeping me motivated as well. Where is the check box for that?

However you measure success, don't get bent out of shape about the number on the scale. While that number is one measurement of your progress it is no where close to being the ONLY one. Don't miss the wonderful glory of the forest for concentrating on one tree. Keep up the good work everyone!
