My name is April and I'm 28 years young. I'm also the very proud mother of a vivacious, charming, beautiful, and intelligent 2 year old daughter. Can you tell she's the light of my life :-) I've been struggling with weight for most of my life and now as mother, I want to make sure I'm setting a healthy example for my daughter, Kharmyn. It is important that she lives a healthy lifestyle and that I become more healthy so that I can be with her a long time.

I've had several weight loss "buddies" that have fallen through the cracks so to speak and I'm hoping to meet people on here that are as dedicated to a healthier lifestyle as I am. I am looking to gain support as well as provide support, encouragement, and friendship to others.

With that said, let's get moving!

Fatsecret RDI / BMR / Your RDI
Mathematically speaking the fatsecret rdi calculator is accurate. It takes your BMR based on height, weight, age, male/female and comes up with a number. Then that number is multiplied by your activity level. When I went to the page provide by sngglebnny. The next step is taking that number and plugging it into the Harris Benedict equation which is a formula that takes into account your activity level. That is the number of calories you need to maintain your current weight. From that number I subtracted what I got using fatsecret and came out to about a pound per week weight loss. If you want to lose 2 lbs. subtract 1000 calories from the number you got using the Harris Benedict Equation.

The real simple way (if you're 150 and over) is to take your weight and multiply it by 7. This is roughly the amount of calories you need to conusume to lose about 2 lbs. per week.
