Did you do anything special with regards to carbs while you lost the weight?

YES!!! If you were on any statins for the Lipids, I hope the doctor will take you off of them now. Very impressed with your work on the A1C -- that has got to feel good to be out of the diabetic danger zone. Whole foods for the win!

Jen.Bruner, I do not limit my carb intake. I eliminated all highly processed foods. I now eat a mostly Plant Based diet; eating for nutrition and taste. Beans, Whole Grains, Nuts and Seeds, Fresh and frozen Fruits and Veggies make up the backbone of my diet. I do eat fish and chicken and eggs in small amounts. When I plan my meals, I start with all Plant based foods, then supplement Protein with animal based when needed, aiming for 35g per meal. I aim to keep my sodium intake below 1800 mg per day; Saturated Fat below 12g per day. I typically eat between 1600-1800 calories.
