I have a pretty good reason for gaining thirty pounds this last year. No, I really do! My doctor told me I had Irritable Bowl Syndrome (IBS) for two years. My symptoms didn't fit according to all my research but I had terrible pain. My doctor was sure I just needed to figure out my 'trigger'. Every few weeks I would cut out another food and find NO relief. I finally got so bad I had to see the available doctor to see about pain pills or the possibility of kidney stones.. Five minutes with me and I was sent to get a CT Scan which confirmed a grapefruit size mass in my belly. Two days later I had the endometrioma removed along with an ovary. Recovery was slow but DELICIOUS! I ate everything, tried new recipes, ate at new restaurants! I told myself I deserved it. That is how I gained the weight.
Now I realize how much I deserved to carry less weight. It isn't about being skinny for me. It is about being comfortable and ABLE in my skin. I am very independent and this current body makes me rely on others just a little bit. I am adventurous but this body has no stamina. I am confident, but in this body---not so much.
