I got trapped by geese on my walk at the park today. A flotilla of goslings landed on shore with mama and papa and dawdled right across the walkin path. Didn't want to get too close. If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's don't piss off the geese!

I was on a little bridge, so I had no way to swing wide and go around. Me and another woman were stuck on the bridge together waiting until it was safe to go

This is sorta on topic of mama animals acting aggressively to protect their young. When I was a little girl I picked up my favorite cat at my grandma's farm. Muffin was pregnant...but I was too young to notice. She sunk her teeth into my face, right below (thank goodness) my right eye. And equally lucky was I that she didn't tear, just pulled her teeth back out the same way they'd gone in.... beware the mama animal...she's no joke.

Lol They are cute! Glad you were with a friend and was able to enjoy your walk even with the little hold up.

Yikes, gwzfire! Glad you were OK! Navywifeski -- it was actually a random stranger on the bridge with me. We both had a good laugh at our predicament. 😂 I actually prefer to walk alone. Was out over two hours today and had a fabulous time! My pace per mile ain't great, but I kept stopping to look at flowers, walked the little labyrinth, etc, etc

I had geese interrupt my walk one time. My daughter and I decided to forge ahead like morons. I thought if we didn;t make eye contact it would be ok. They started hissing and we had to make a run for it. LOL

DP -- I made the same mistake of getting too close when I was young. It's a mistake you generally only make once!

My pace per mile is never great either. I like to look at things too much and just enjoy being out in nature. Good for you enjoying that long walk. It feels so nice. Glad you and the stranger had a good laugh. lol

I used to work as a teacher at a boarding school. I saw a gaggle of teenage boys throw gravel at some Canada geese. Then the angry geese chased them all over campus. I personally never really liked the geese but those boys got what they deserved. (One of the boys was Canadian and I heard one of the other boys yelling as they ran "Hayden, you speak their language! Tell them we come in peace!" Lol)
