I can't possibly enjoy my pad thai like I planned. When we weighed in, Ms. Cortez had lost A LOT of weight, which puts me on guard. I think she lost 6 to 8 pounds!!! I lost about 3, which is pretty good, but I guess that's what I have to keep producing if I want to keep up with everyone else.

I feel smaller, though. I noticed last night how much my stomach had gone down when I was lying down on the bench, trying to do crunches in Angel's studio. Not much gut as before! Actually, I look in the mirror, and I SEE it now: smaller arms, smaller thighs... smaller stomach.

Lorry gave me a bunch of pants yesterday that I tried on when I got home last night. All of them fit! Pat loved them all and kept asking if I was sure Lorry was okay with giving them to me. I told her Lorry was going to take them to Goodwill if I couldn't fit them. Yay! Free clothes that fit, and no trip to the mall necessary. This is the life. (Thanks, Lolo!)

Anyway, I saw a ten-speed bicycle up for sale in the Woodlands this week. The woman who's selling it for $45 says it's still available, and I really want it because ... it reminds me of when my father used to take me on his bicycle. Except this is a woman's. Plus, the bike I have at home is a cruiser, and it looks like a granny uses it. At least the road bike makes me appear to be serious about riding a bike. I shouldn't get it, but you only live once.

The rate a person loses weight is based on the sex (male or female), how much they currently weigh (the more you have to lose the bigger the losses will most likely be), genetics, how much muscle you have, how much you exercise, hormones, etc. Many things factor in to our weight loss. No two people lose alike. So you should never compare yourself to anyone else or try to keep up with any one. Our age is also a factor. The older you get, the harder it can become. So take any loss you get and feel good about it. No matter what you will get to goal if you stay the course.
