Why is it that one beer...no matter how much of a caloric "credit" I have available...can raise my weight the next day???????? I'm sure it's the beer...

It is... alcohol contains calories that are more difficult to burn because they are made up differently.

Alcohol can cause dehyration and bloat. The bloat causes weight gain. It usually goes away after a couple of days though.
