I'm switching to 3 meals a day with no snacking for simplicity and I heard that it gives your boday a chance to burn fat.

From everything I have read you should be eating 5 to 6 small meals a day. The wisdom behind this is that your stomach is like a furnace and it constantly need fuel. If you eat smaller amounts more frequently it should really stoke up your metabolism and help you burn more fat. If you only eat the 3 meals a day your metabolism will actually slow making it harder for you to burn fat. Most importantly, listen to your body. If your hungry, eat. Just make sure what you do eat is nutrient rich. Good Luck!

I've heard that there is no research to back that up. I'm sure it works for some and it worked with me at the beginning, but I've been stalled for months now and have regained some of it back. I appreciate the concern though and if you know of a study that supports this I would love to check it out. I don't want to start something that might take in a worse direction. Thanks.

i agree that every nody is completely different with different needs/ amounts of meals. if you do find that 3 meals isn't enough but you don't want to snack, i've found that if I have a salad prepped for lunch and dinner I'll eat that about 20-30 mins before the meal and it takes away the hunger that makes you eat everything in sight.

Thanks nsdiet. I think I will add that to my dinner at least. I haven't been getting hungry during the day, but I think I need to eat a little more for dinner, because I woke up hungry before it was time to get up today.
