GogglesPaesano's Journal, 19 March 2011

So sore this afternoon after hitting the gym hard the last two days. Back to back within 14 hours was probably not a great idea but I had diet/workout guilt after not doing much from Monday to Friday. I was watching the calories all along but was busy at work during this tax/audit time. It's going to be the same over the next couple of weeks for me until early April. But at least I feel confident that I am way ahead of schedule. My goal was to get down to 230 by my birthday on May 29th and I may get there more than a month early. The ultimate goal was to get to 220 by July 4th so we'll see if that is in the cards for me. Have a great weekend all! So looking forward to the warm weather!

hey man, do you workout with a gym buddy? i haven't in a while but it usually keeps me going regularly cos of the constant nagging haha. also, do you take any supplements for recovery? i find if i'm doing back to backs (and its tough cos we like to go heavy right!) a couple of protein shakes and some creatine gets me back to 100% in a short space to hit it again. hope you had a good weekend too!

I have just been going to the kickboxing gym and taking classes with a former MMA fighter here in New York. I have to say the class is mostly women but I don't mind because it's what is working for me. There is a lot of striking the bag, lots of abs and pushups and sometimes the instructors work in the kettlebell and dumbbell weights. I go alone because there is really no need for a spotter because there isn't much lifting. I plan to buy a small home gym for my garage coming up this summer. A bench and some free weights so I can start to build a little muscle. The mission so far has just been to burn off the 20 to 30 lbs of fat that had accumulated over the years. And so far, so good on that task.

thats cool man, least you know what you want and how you're going about getting it. MMA's great for that cardio fitness- TFW (training for warriors) youtube channel has some great circuits on it too, all you need is a few gym props and a interval timer and you're good to go. keep it up man!
