Finally, I have internet again! I've been without it for weeks now, and wasn't able to upload any photos to FatSecret. Thankfully, I had enough internet to use the food tracker and record my weight, but photos wouldn't work.

Since my last share we finished our tour of Utah and have now moved into Idaho. I also had a fantastic birthday celebration. Here are some pictures I've been waiting to share.

Photo Captions:

1 - 5) While we were still in Utah I looked for a place near our campsite where we could go hiking. I found Cedar Breaks National Monument on the map. I hadn't heard of it before, but it was close so we decided to go. Unfortunately the hiking trails hadn't opened for the season yet, because they were all still blocked by snow. The elevation at Cedar Breaks is more than 10,000 feet (3,000 meters), so it's very cold. It was only 38° F (3° C) the morning we were there. My hands were so cold I had a hard time working my camera, but I managed to get these pictures.

6) Later we moved to a beautiful campsite on the edge of the Uinta National Forest near Spanish Fork, Utah, which is where we were for my birthday. I took this picture near our campsite while on one of my walks.

7) The morning of my birthday we went to a park that had paved walking and biking trails along the Spanish Fork River, where I got to see this mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) wading in the river. Mule deer are so named for their extra large donkey ears.

8) My birthday celebration started with Kevin fixing me a delicious, fattening breakfast. We had blueberry pancakes covered with whipped cream and maple syrup, hash browns - scattered, smothered and covered, and hot Jimmy Dean sausage! I hadn't had anything like this for breakfast since I started eating healthier a year and a half ago, almost, so it was a real treat.

9) The afternoon of my birthday was filled with more treats. Kevin and I watched a movie together while we enjoyed popcorn and M&M's, along with cake and ice cream. Only the M&M's got photographed, unfortunately. I had also started sipping tequila by this point, so photography became less of a priority.

10) Since beginning my new way of eating, I never have dinner anymore. I usually only have a small snack in the evening. Lunch is our main meal, but on my birthday we had a real dinner. A nice one too, with grilled ribeye, steamed broccoli, mushrooms, peppers and red onion kabobs, canned tomatoes and cornbread with lots of butter. Yum, yum!

11) My birthday celebration ended with a relaxing campfire, and more tequila.

12) We've since left Utah and moved into Idaho now. This was our view of the blue-green waters of the Stone Reservoir from our campsite in Stone, Idaho. I love camping next to the water.

13) This is the Sublett Reservoir in the Sawtooth National Forest near Burley, Idaho. I took this picture while on my walk. That white dot furthest to the right near the water's edge is our camper. We were camping here until this morning. We're now camping beside the Snake River near Hobson, Idaho. Photos of that are coming soon.

Love this series. Used to travel up here as a kid, need to go back. Glad it looks relatively untouched unlike other places.

I’m not sure I understood the breathlessness of the southwest until I saw it first hand. Your photos do it justice. #3 really brought me back to a site near Sedona. Thank for the reminder. 🤩

As usual, your photos do not disappoint! Hubby & I did a cross country RV trip from Portland down to California then across to Georgia in 2001. I was amazed at the different & gorgeous scenery as we traveled thru Arizona. You & Kevin are lucky to be experiencing this.

Cool pics Lonnie 👍 Drove through that Spanish Fork canyon last August and really liked it. Unfortunately, my son and I only had time to eat lunch at Spanish Fork River Park before our way to Cortez. Would have liked to stay longer so thanks for sharing!!
