The Blue Box's Journal, 28 January 2014

I've been researching the Paleo diet and I think it's something I want to try.

BUT there are a couple of things on this list I'm not sure I can give up, namely:
yogurt, oatmeal, quinoa, legumes, and sweet potatoes. And they also tell you to try and stay away from high sugar fruits like pineapple, bananas, apples, kiwis; meaning all the yummiest fruit! And I'm guessing protein powder is out of the equation as well.

I have steel cuts oats for breakfast and quinoa & beans for lunch almost everyday... So I would basically have to re-vamp my entire food intake.

If I was Paleo meals would look like...
Breakfast: Eggs/omelet & seasonal fruit

Lunch: Chicken breast/meat, veggies, & fruit

Dinner: Fish & veggies

Snacks: Carrots, cucumbers, almonds, plums, grape tomatoes

If I did go through with it, it probably wouldn't be until February, because I have a whole bunch of beans, quinoa, oats, and protein powder stocked up.

Yeah, it seems like something I would want to try out! But when I said February, I meant March. I didn't know the next month was coming up so soon!

Some people on a less strict Paleo diet also eat full fat yogurt (because it has less lactose). Sweet potatoes are Paleo but only good if you want to maintain or gain weight (at least, that's what I read). Quinoa should be fine if your body can digest it without problems :) I think you should only watch your fruit intake if you're trying to lose weight.
