I have really sweet neighbor kids. Yesterday, they came to borrow my shovel so they could shovel their walk and then they did mine, plus got all the ice off of my car. I gave them some money, some suckers and a few clementines. Their parents tried to make them give them back and I wouldn't take them. The girls are 8 and 11, the boy is 13. I think the 13 year old is borderline mentally challenged and I've just bonded with him. Their Dad didn't think they did a good enough job, so he came and finished it. Shoveled behind the car for me! The whole family is so nice and great neighbors. We all have so many things that are truly blessings to us, don't we?
My ONE tree is bent way over from the ice, but it didn't split or break. I thought that was pretty amazing! It looks like an ice sculpture!

Aww, that is so sweet that the kids did all that for you! And that the Dad helped, too. As much as ice scares me for walking and driving, I LOVE how it looks when it glazes the trees! Sometimes the beauty in nature takes my breath away. Have a wonderful day!

I drove down to get my mail, yesterday, and it looks like a winter wonderland out here. All the trees and bushes covered with ice. Some trees are split in half, though. I surprised my tree didn't split, because it's not very old or very big. I always think it looks like a postcard, until people get it all dirty from driving on it.

Great neighbors! Glad your tree didn't break. I loved those ice storms in Minnesota and out in west Texas in the mountains...they are so beautiful and it always looks like a fairy land. Growing up there was a big hill behind my house that was a park and when it iced we used the entire hill as our skating rink!
