Doing well. Some pain meds were discontinued so a side effect was a sleepless night. They really just knock one out anyway more than anything else so aren't really of much use. I hope to have a friend drive me to a big grocery store on Saturday or Sunday to shop and get more quantities of food at a better price. Hoping to move this winter sometime still, and will take an apartment even if it's smaller than where I live as the place is better and quieter there. I'm tired from not sleeping, and need to get to the place where they teach the computer class and begin that eventually but I can't do it if I am exhausted from not sleeping.

I learned how to put up a photo from a random site onto my homepage last night. It was easy, someone on the Internet told me how, and so it got done. Some things are quite easy to do if one has someone to show them how to do it. I wrote this as I know how to browse photos sort of - but want to be able to use the Internet more proficiently so if anyone has the name of a good book or books to use as study guides that are written in simple English let me know... :)

Simple English meaning not computerese, or computer English where the phrases are impossible for someone fairly new on the Internet to understand what the heck they're saying...

Sorry, no recommendations for books, but I know that you can find sleep aids at the drugstore usually - they are made from antihistamines, like Benadryl and are usually a double dose so you get really sleepy. Hope you get some sleep soon, I know what it's like to not sleep!

I have some Ambien (prescription-strength sleeping pills), but don't take them very often. I am sort of allergic to Benadryl in a way and won't take it unless absolutely necessary like an allergic reaction because my psych meds don't work if I take Benadryl for some reason, and nothing else has had that affect really. Thanks for the message and thoughtfulness though...

abba - by the way when I was a nurse I gave out Benadryl frequently at h.s. (the medical abbreviation for bedtime). Usually 25mg, sometimes 50mg. The main heavy drug back then was Halcyon for sleep but probably Ambien has taken over, I haven't been a nurse almost sixteen years now so don't know what they give in the hospitals and nursing homes regularly, though IMHO Xanax should be banned, but probably most of Congress and Hollywood is on it so it won't be. To me it was difficult to get off of, only a mental breakdown got me off of it. There are anti-anxiety meds that work just as well for say panic disorder such as Klonipin, which don't give that high. I imagine inevitably it will be banned years from now because of that 'sense of well-being' it gives that is not normal even with anti-depressants. Just my thoughts anyway...

I checked this as it has been SO long since I was a nurse and the nighttime med is spelled Halcion after the word halcyon, which is like a calm. It was VERY heavily prescribed in the early 90s when I was a nurse, I think now Ambien has better marketing...
