I guess I got more than a carpet burn on my knee yesterday, as I feel a definite twinge behind my knee every time my heel strikes the ground when I stride out. So, my walk was cut short to just .8 mile this morning. I had hoped the knee would just work itself out as I walked, but it didn't. Hopefully a day of rest will improve it so I can go back to the full distance tomorrow. I also gained a pound - actually stayed the same since last Monday. The 196 was a touch-down a couple of days ago, then I popped back to 197. I had thought I'd drop to 196 by my weigh-in today, but my body had a different timetable, I guess. Now, I've got 3 pounds (!!) to lose this week to keep pace on the Christmas Challenge.

Sorry that your knee is acting up! Hope that it gets better soon. I am at 194, and have been since the middle of August. Am hoping for a drop next time weigh, but am almost afraid to step on that beast. Am worried that the scale gremlin is lurking!

Thanks...I definitely cannot afford to have a knee problem. DH wrecked his ACL last fall and had surgery for that and other associated damage in June so I've been the only one who can climb attic stairs, climb ladders, mow the lawn, etc. I always said we should have had some kids, esp. big strapping boys! LOL!! I hear that the Scale Gremlin and the Whoosh Fairy are duking it out in a lot of homes, these days.

WEll, I wish the "Whoosh Fairy" would come see me!! That darned "Scale Gremlin" is scaring her off!!.........As for your knee, what did you do? Fall? I have one knee that I have injured so many times and that has such terrible arthritis and damage from the Lupus that it is almost 2 inches bigger around than the other! But I am still hoping that with some more exercise and strengthening it will get better. Doubtful, but I can hope!

Getting your injury better is WAY more important than walking for exercise. Stick to your eating plan and give your leg a chance to recover. If you push it when it's hurt it will just set you back further. How's your hand? Things always hurt more the next day or two after a fall. Take it easy! It is a holiday!

Thanks for checking in. I think that "things hurt worse the next day..." definitely applies. My hand still hurts if I press the area between the knuckles of my little and ring fingers. My 60+-pound Collie came up on the bed to see me this AM and happened to step right there on my hand - YEEEEE-OUCH!! So, yes, for today, I'll be taking it easy and worrying about eating too much with very little exercise.

Don't worry! Plan for good eating. Keep your water handy and you'll do fine! I know you can do it!! BECAUSE you WANT it! right? YES!

Mind that kknee, I suffered terrible with mine after a flight in Malta June 2 yrs ago, Like you all recorded in journal, I like a fool did not rest it, its only in last 2 weeks I'm able to stand up sudden without it hurting. Even buy a knee support, Mind yourself
