Good for you. That is one of the 1st steps. If you are truly carb sensitive, like most of us here are, you wont ever be successful until you finally realize, and admit to yourself that this HAS got to be a way of eating for the rest of your life. It doesn't matter how easily or how quickly you can get to your goal weight, it will ALWAYS come right back on if you go back to your old way of eating. Do the work. Learn Atkins. Learn how you can manage this WOE for your WOL!

Thankyou...I'm trying ..but it seems that no matter what the scales are not being very friendly.I used the Atkins diet before and lost 24 lbs in 1993 I kept it off all these yrs I learned then what an intolerance I had for carbs..so this time because my carb levels are already lower than some I think that is where my problem lies.Do you think that could be it.

Your weight loss will be slower as you are a lot closer to your goal weight than before. Keep eating the Atkins way, keep exercising and you will see results. You can do it!

So do I understand this correctly? You've been maintaining your weight in the 160-170 range with low carb foods prior to starting this current journey to get into the 130's? Do you think you've been maintaining on 20 net carbs prior to this? Is that why you think that eating 20 net carbs may not create a loss for you?

I was totally into the carbs prior to 1993..muffins toast..lots of milk...pastas all that bad stuff when I lost the weight before I learned through Atkins that I was carb intolerant..I would eat a muffin and want to tear into more muffins within a 1/2 hour of eating. I cut way back to only eating pasta once or twice a month hardly any breads,no white rice white potatoes in fact no white anything. So YES I believe that because my carb levels are so much lower at the present time ..that the diet just isn't going to work.BUT I really want to lose this weight.

Oh I was maintaining my weight between 168 and 173 ..I am at 165 now from 173 but seem to be stalled there.

So, it looks like you're as much as 8 pounds down since whenever you started Atkins again. We can only see your weight as of when you began here on this site and from that standpoint, it looks exceptional. There have been individuals who have had to reduce their net carbs to very low levels in order to drop weight, but the ones I've heard of have done so with the advice of the Atkins' corporate nutritionist on the Atkins site. Once you've got a more extensive log of food and weight, you may want to consider asking her opinion. Just "food" for thought...
