caged liberty's Journal, 17 July 2008

Its been quite a few days since I wrote a journal. I have a car now and the full driving license so I thought my problems would have greatly subsided in terms of my dieting obstacles.

But now I seem to have lost the motivation to really stick to it. I am tired of eating salads and chicken all the time. I know what I need to do but just doing it seems to evade me.

I need a dieting plan and recipes in advance so that each day I make something new and interesting. I need to have a shopping list ready so that I will have all the ingredients on hand whenever I want to make something.

I just need to get to 135lbs and yet these last few pounds seem like the toughest.

I have noticed that I was losing approximately 2.5lbs a week when I was really sticking to it so I could reach my weight goal in as little as two weeks. What on earth is my problem???

I havent really gone out much in the car. Older two are always just sleeping all day long. I dont like to go out with the little one that much because after about an hour he becomes quite annoying so I just want to run home to the safety of the house.

I need to get a life, maybe try to find a mommy and me club somewhere so that at least little bear and I get out of the house instead of waiting for the older two to get up so we can go out.

I also need to find the motivation to get back to exercising again.

Dont worry guys, I am just venting and tomorrow I will feel better I am sure.

It's good to vent. You've been doing such a FANTASTIC job, I'm sure you'll be back to it soon. You are SO CLOSE. Your chart looks amazing. Cut yourself some slack - if you need a break, you need a break! Just keep an eye on the scale to make sure you're not going in the wrong direction. I'm sure I'm only one of many who KNOW you will make your goal!

Those last few pounds are the hardest to come off! Give yourself time to do it and try not to get too anxious about it. Maybe you could set a goal of 1/2 lb. per week. That way it will come off and will STAY off. :)

You know, I've always kept so many ideas at hand for when I get to those last ten or so pounds....so here is one of my favorites that a friend used. She said that she knew she only had about 8lbs to lose and found herself so not motivated. So she decided that if she could diet every other day, she would be fine. So, that's what she did. She stuck really close to her diet every other day and then just ate reasonably on the opposite days. It took her longer, but the weight came off. And to maintain her weight, she keeps with this philosophy. And it has worked for her for three years. I kind of liked the idea. Now, go drive around a little, will ya???!!!

Everyone says the last few are the hardest to lose... I know you will definitely feel better tomorrow! Don't lose your focus... It will all come together for you! Glad you are mobile now, even if you don't really go out much. It's nice just to have the ability to, if you want.

You may want to sit down and go through some cookbooks or magazines to spark an interest in some new foods. I find myself in ;the same situation at times and I will sit down and get a few new ideas to keep me going. You have a great day and yes, get out and go for a drive!!

It is hard to maintain the motivation, especially when you've got so little left to lose. But you can do this - you know you can! Try planning out all your meals a week ahead (try adding a new recipe every week) and buying in all the groceries you need, then you always have what you need to create a range of interesting and varied meals. You should look at a mother and baby group - sounds like just what you need at the moment! Good luck, Nisa!! :)
