Sandy701's Journal, 28 September 2012

3.1 miles walked today; dogs along for just 1.5 miles due to the heat and humidity coming on again. I wanted to get my mileage in today, as it appears the weekend and perhaps Monday will be washouts. With some luck, however, the rain may not start until mid-day tomorrow, so I'm hoping I can get the lawn done with some cloud cover and cooler temps in advance of that rain.

Today, I'll do the final coat of white along the trim of the lime green bedroom. I should be able to do some masking and begin the REAL painting this weekend.

Hard to believe we're already coming up on the end of September. With this rain coming along with another touch of cooler weather, I think we've only got about another day for swimming, so I'm going to try to make it a point to get in the pool today, and tomorrow, as well, if I can do it before any storms.

I just noticed my neighbors coming home....yes, the neighbors I helped out last Thanksgiving and Christmas time. He had yet another health problem and was taken to the hospital by ambulance back around Labor Day. He's been in the hospital and rehab center ever since then (close to a month) because he's now in kidney failure and on dialysis. Good to see him finally home....but sad because the entire prognosis is not very good. While he was somewhat healthy this summer, he managed to give his wife enough driving practice so that she's able to drive again and is no longer stranded when he's in the hospital, which is excellent for her independence.

Just like over the holidays' hospitalizations, though.....where are their grown kids?????? One showed up over MLK weekend back in January, but that's it, even with all this being so serious and life-threatening.

Hope you got lots of quality time in the pool today - hard to believe it might be your last day. Got to cut this short - my BIL is here.

Sorry I missed you yesterday, busy @ work. Enjoy the pool as much as you can while you can. You have been painting up a storm! Hope your thigh feels up to another room. Mixed news on the neighbor front, I hope they can manage on their own for a while yet. Thanks for your comments on my journal...I will be trying very hard to keep ME in check...what a job!

Hey Sandy! You are doing great with the walking. Hope you get your painting done. You should take a pic when you are all done. Sad news about your neighbor and even sadder about the kids not there but one never knows their situation. Just be a good neighbor and give your support. Have a great weekend.

M2B...my painting keeps getting postponed due to other things....or maybe that's just me procrastinating! The thrift shop has been hit with some bad luck, as more than a couple of people are going to be out for awhile with medical issues. So, instead of painting tomorrow, I'll be back there volunteering....which I much prefer anyway!

GG....looks like you did just fine over the weekend. You've got the issue identified and you're making steady progress....what more can you ask for? A new month gives us all a new, fresh outlook.....go us!!!
