Ermagerd. Wondering if this is the Keto/ Low Carb ice cream solution! Drool.... I might have to buy one of these and find out. I took a bite of my daughter's sugary coffee ice cream today and got inspired...

Do you have to keep part of it in the freezer?

This one seems to work differently. It seems like the ingredients live frozen in the freezer. Most people use frozen fruit but one reviewer use cubes of frozen cream which is right up my alley! I just wonder if you could mix up some flavored, stevia sweetened cream, maybe some cream cheese blended in for thickness....

I had something like this. It didn’t work well. You kinda have to mix all ingredients together, divide it up in smallish pieces, freeze it, then shove it through the tube.

not a bad price,, like to have this gadget to make some healthier ice cream for my kids. I can make unsweetened vanilla matcha green tea ice cream!

I have 3 ice cream makers—I make it really often.. look at recipes before you buy this one. Sometimes I just take regular yogurt, add fruit and run it through the machine. No instant gratification because you have to freeze it. I make it at night so it’s ready the next day.

We did a chemistry lab comparing the use of different materials added to ice to reduce the temperature below 32 degrees F / Zero degrees C. Everybody made a different flavor of frozen dessert. Result of experiment: Salt, being ionic, required half as many NaCl "molecules" as the covalent molecular compound (table sugar) to drop the ice water bath below freezing to near 0 degrees F. (Salt separates into two ions in solution, doubling number of units). My partner and I made orange creamsicle flavor.

Awesome ideas/ feedback everyone! Glen I wonder what you are doing differently that makes your Keto ice cream "great" versus the "just okay" I usually hear. I have a powerful Vitamix blender and I think I will try blending the frozen stevia/vanilla/cream cubes in there and see what happens. I made an instant raspberry sorbet that way last year.

Get Carrie Brown's Keto ice cream cookbook from Amazon - her recipes are amazing! I use a Cuisinart ice cream maker, that has a bowl you freeze, and has a timer for ice cream or sorbet. Carrie uses xylitol exclusively, but my bod can't tolerate it. I substitute erythritol + Stevia + 2 or 3 tablespoons of vodka.

Gz9gig— same machine I have. I have three so that I can make 3 flavors simultaneously. I am not Keto, nor am I dieting but I would like to check out that keto book just in case anyone I know ever does it.. Basically I have gotten all my ice cream and popsicle recipes from blogs and the internet.

Do that! Xylitol and sugar basically measure the same in recipes, so the recipes ought to work with sugar. My favorite so far is her Hazelnut with chocolate chunks - I buy unsweetened hazelnut butter though instead of her method.

Beware of xylitol if you are on Keto it will lower your ketones almost as much as sugar and also gives you a bs spike.

I substitute for the xylitol in ice cream recipes with Erythritol + Stevia + vodka. I don't use added sweeteners otherwise.

I'm interested in what Vodka does to ice cream! Does it keep it from freezing too hard? If so, very clever! I use Now powdered "Better Stevia" almost exclusively but I have Erythritol in the pantry too. Any history of ketones going down from that?

I have used erythritol many times and have not seen a decrease in ketones. I don’t use it in drinks but In Keto baked goods so I think it’s pretty safe. Xylitol taste great in baked goods but had a lot of adverse effects :/

I whipped up some cold heavy whipping cream once, together with a tiny bit xylothol. Pretended it was ice cream in my mind. Worked ok. Read the label of a supermarket ice cream once, and very quicly put it back.
