"Hoser: No, I have not seen the biggest loser because I don't watch television, but I can assure you that I have never fallen off a treadmill nor have I ever seen anyone else do so "in the wild". Besides, I tend to base my decisions on facts and common sense rather than on a sensationalized television show"

Majority of people on this site watch the show for motivation because some people believe they can never get fit. So an Obese comrade on a treadmill running/sprinting with no prior history of training or fitness knowledge it can hurt them IF they dont have PROPER RUNNING FORM.

"Hoser:However, if you *do* want to play the anecdotal evidence game, a friend of mine recently spent a few months not walking at all. Why? He ripped out all of the tendons on one side of his foot by running on a trail"
Your comrade lacked proprioception in his ankles. Probably didn't have prior training, maybe he lacked a good warm-up routine, possibly lacks full range of motion in his ankle joint, not paying attention, progress to difficult trail instead of jumping the gun etc. I'm not sure but ANY Exercise is consider dangerous without using the proper technique or listening to your own body.

As a fitness pro, if you said your goal was to be the best treadmill runner than thats different. I explain to you there are different types of treadmills the best one is the one your gym probably don't have unless your at Balleys or something higher, is in University which they use for athletes instead of a flat rubber surfaces is broken blocks. But we can't spend a whole session just a treadmill, learn to be independent not dependent I tell my clients. People at my gym waited 7 months to start exercising because the gym wasn't opened yet. WOOw right...I'm versatile in what I do and can do.

I know: bodyweight training, kettlebell training, circuit training, HIIT, Strength Training, kickboxing, Yoga, TRX training, MAx Interval Training, etc

My activities: capoeira twice a week and power yoga at least once a week.
I've done skiing, roller skating, swimming, and step dancing.

Thats good you drop down your blood pressure but once you reach close to your plateau mark(when you lose about 30lb more )..your gonna be at a maintenance level because your body will adapt to your favorite exercise. Everybody adaption rate is different. Google GAS(general adaption syndrome)

Question for GYM RATS
@beets_yum majority of females have less testosterone and your in the minority that has more than average due to your genetics..but most articles refers to the majority. But occasionally make sure you have enough resistance placed on your bones for bones and ligaments sake.

@imaxed u go to Rutgers? and excellent workout plan too crazy for me to handle lol..but yeah 70-80% of your body is based on your diet

@rosiek Hey thanks, youtube joint mobility exercises for your ankle to increase your range of motion that might help

@hoser I'm a fitness professional not a gym rat lol..I just did a Power Yoga class and it was me and 20 other ladies in there...Circuit training is not an exercise, its a TRAINING format. If you feel like adding a treadmill into your circuit training go ahead but there's alot of dangers that come with it. Have you seen the Biggest Loser?? You know how many times they fell off a treadmill lol..
I have my fitness goal but this article is geared for people whose fitness goals is FAT LOSS or GENERAL PERFORMANCE.

@oddity very odd lol..what?

"the best exercises and training is the one your not doing"
