Suck-o-la. I seemed to have gained some back. I know why... it's pretty easy, I got crazy sick yesterday... they thought it might be my gallbladder, but after losing my breakfast I wasn't allowed to eat for the rest of the day while they ran tests. Turns out it wasn't my gallbladder. But while I was at the hospital having stuff run, my son spiked a fever and so my hubs rushed him to the doctor (poor husband spent all day in waiting rooms!), and by the time I finished all my tests I was dehydrated and famished and just needed some sugar. There's a time and place for flat coke and saltines, SBD be damned.

So yeah, I'm back with the phase II eating plan as of *today* and doing well, hopefully my weight will get back on track. Honestly, I'm proud of myself, I did well today and that's impressive considering that I've got a sick baby!

Ok... I think I'm going to start keeping all my diet related journaling on here instead of my LJ. That way everything's where I can find it.

Today I ate my mushroom, sausage & white bean breakfast hash, some almonds for a snack, about half of a Baja Fresh fajita's plate (just the beans & fajuitas, no tortillas, rice or chips), a piece of cheesecake and a large nonfat latte.

A piece of cheesecake??? Yeah. It probably wasn't 100% the smart choice, but reading the south beach book really got me in the headspace of being flexible, and jumping back on the wagon. And it's so rare that I'm in the office on the day we have a party, so I really wanted to socialize with my co-workers. Plus it was Porto's and if you lived in our part of LA, you'd know that Porto's is AMAZING, so it's not like I was wasting carbs/calories on some chain restraunt sludge.

I did notice though that after I had the cheesecake, I had to put a bit more effort into restraining myself from cruising the post-meeting leftovers in the breakroom. So if I'm going to swerve from the diet, I have to realize that I need stronger willpower in the next few hours because that little insulin bump could lead to a bigger derailment.

So yeah, I'm over bellyaching about it. If my husband knew, he'd probably give me some shit... but so far I'm down about 7 pounds and he's only down about 5. :-P Hooray for nursing... it really makes it a lot easier to weather the little hiccups in your diet.
