So here I go to battle the buldge again. I've been trying to lose pounds since Oct. but have not been successful instead the opposite has been true (+8). I really what to try to lose so I can feel better inside and look my best for my D.L. photo this summer. This is just one of my pre-New Year goals ( I always start before new years). Based on experience (~24 yrs) portion control (Nutri system), any 30 min. exercise, and low carb works. I just find that as I'm getting older it's not so easy.

HCG Diet & I need your ideas for 500 calorie diets
One of my questions is how can one lose muscle if you have a considerable amount of body fat to lose? It would seem that if the body is looking for energy it would use up the calories consumed, and if you've created a calorie deficet-then the bodys fat reserve and when that is depleated it would then seek out muscle, which is why weight lifters who want six pack abs have to be careful to proportion diet and exercise just right. I agree that exercise is the best even if the scale says other wise, but I just look at how my clothes fit and feel good.

How old where you when you first felt the need to diet?
I can rember being in the 4th grade when I noticed my weight increasing. I come from a lean slim stock that can eat anything and not exercise. I was the exception. My mother always was persistant on feeding, but then critize me when I started gaining rapidly. Thus begain the love hate rollercoaster of dieting. It wasn't untill later in life that I had numerous health issues one of which was Graves Diease(over active thyroid). The other was Hodgkins lymphomia. It's difficult now because my metabolism is lower from all kinds of treatments. I'm not obessed like when I was younger but I just want to be a normal weight 135-145. I just know that when I'm not so heavy I physically & emotionally feel better.

motivation is starting to return!
Motivation is starting to return, even though I've slipped up here & there. When I look at the chart and see the green arrow point down I feel relieved! Plus seeing other report their trial, error and success puts thing into a healthy prospective.Very Happy

Replacing the forbidden foods with simmilar flavor
Has anyone tried Lorann flavorings, not an extract, in recipes to quench the cravings in food not allowed in some diets? They have a huge selection of flavors. On a low carb type but thought I might experiment adding it to things. Does anyone have any tricks?
