I have been scared to get on a scale after all the summertime self-indulgence recently, plus I fell off my walking routine wagon. But I just picked up my courage and weighed myself... and I have kept it off. AMAZING. I am even 0.3 pounds down from last time.
This thing is really happening this time. Last year I finally took control and quit smoking... and this year I am finally taking control and losing weight.
Onward! Next goal: 174.0 even!

175.0 pounds? Seriously?? I was not expecting such awesome news for my weekly Thursday morning weigh-in! Two whole pounds down since last week. :-O Wow.
I haven't weighed this little since about 2008.
Looking ahead, I see challenges in the upcoming week. Lots of dining out, lots of wine and snacks on patios with friends. I have to determine how to negotiate those treacherous rapids without gaining anything back.
Next week's goal: 175.0 again. I don't want to give up this amazing and unexpected milestone!

I guess there's no way to indicate that I started at 178.4 pounds, so I will start again where I am now, which is a miraculous 177. That makes my goal weight of 167 just ten pounds away.
I am reprogramming myself right now. I'm making choices that get me closer to my goal rather than just offering instant gratification.

Starting over, and doing great. I'm eating healthy foods I never thought I'd enjoy. I'm walking 8,000+ steps per day, every day (except Sundays, which seem to be my downfall!). I'm starting at 178.4 and I intend to reach 167.0 by the end of the year. I know for a fact that I am going to make it.
