Yeah! A pound gone since last week, and I am officially the lowest I've been in years. I did hit 159.9 before the Christmas "eating season" started, but now I've gotten rid of what I gained from that, and I am SO back on track. (Quite literally on track, in fact, because I've been walking on the fitness center track near my work every day at lunchtime, and I bet that's helping!)
My goal of 153 pounds is shining like the Emerald City, just six pounds away, and I'm dancing on the Yellow Brick Road. ;-)

Ahhh. That's what I'm talking about! The holiday weight is coming off! I'm going to crack the 150s by next week, I just know it. The lowest I got before the holiday chocoholic took over my body and brain was 159.9... and I know I can beat that next week! January, I own you!! :-D

Good news: I only gained two and a half pounds over the holiday break. Whew! I thought it was going to be wayyy more than that. It felt like it was, but that was because I ate so much chocolate and fell out of the walking habit. So when I stepped on the scale I thought for sure it was going to be back in the 170s. Not even close. It was 162.7 - nice!
More good news: A friend signed me up for a 5K Color Run in mid-June. I haven’t run more than half a block in years, and only to catch a bus. But – I’m in! I bought running shoes and I’m starting super slow but I’ll be ready. I’ve got 24 weeks!
My new goal is 153 pounds by the Color Run. That’s only 10 pounds away. I can totally do that. Pfft! Piece of cake. (Maybe a rice cake, though.)

Since last month, I've only lost a fraction of a pound... but the way I see it is this: I got through Thanksgiving without gaining weight! I'm a WINNER! :-)
And also, weighing in at 159.9 pounds means I've cracked the surface of the 150s. And THAT is exciting.

Stepped on the scale for the first time in a couple of weeks, muttering, "It's okay if I gained five pounds, I ate a lot of candy and it was delicious and I regret nothing!"
Instead, I find I've lost two more. Whoo hoo! Clearly, 10K steps per day trumps candy!
Next time (hopefully!), I'll be in the 150s. I haven't been there since sometime in my 30s... and I'm 46! These are exciting times, my friends!
