24 April 2008

I haven't been on in quite a while. First, I had a complete computer crash that lasted for about 6 weeks. It was torture not having any internet. Luckily, my brother the computer engineer was able to fix things, though I lost all my files (pics, everything). Then I had a death in the family which was very hard to deal with. And finally, last month I had breast reduction surgery which I am still recovering from. I know this sounds like a bunch of excuses, (I hate excuses) but all the while I've been improving my nutrition and working out nearly 5 times a week.

I have recently discovered so many new approaches to healthy living. It's hard for me to commit to one specific diet or plan but I do tend to follow a loose interpretation of weight watchers. I've also cut out sugars almost completely. I sometimes reward myself with a low cal dessert, but only if I've earned it.

The surgery has been a life changing experience. I only lost a little more than 2 lbs, but I'm down 3 cup sizes which means the world to me. The large chest has always been in my way, inhibiting me socially as well as physically. It's gone now and I feel like a new person. Exercise is so much easier and I can jog (only a little until I'm fully recovered) without those cliche black eyes, lol!

Anyhow, I'm really feeling great about myself. My new, healthier life style allows me so much more energy and as a result the pounds are coming off.
