Once upon a time, I was watching tv and the talk show I was watching did a segment on portion distortion. Intrigued, I continued to watch.

I'm a sucker for a yummy warm bagel with cream cheese, so when they came to the bagel I knew I would be offended. The thing is, they had the bagels you get at a bakery...you know, the giant bagels that is like three days servings worth of grains. I buy the tiny bagels from the grocery store.

The nutritionist on the show said "Now, cut the bagel in half, pull out all the soft dough and eat just the crunch bagel shell with some light butter or margarine." Um....if I'm going to eat a bagel, I'M GOING TO EAT THE WHOLE BAGEL! Then they try to say that doing that to the bagel gives you the bagel experience without the calories and carbs.

I don't know how many of you are actually reading with me regularly if at all, but the biggest part of my diet is I still want to eat what I want to eat and relatively when I want to eat it. Yes, I am changing life habits, yes I'm making smart choices, but if I want chocolate cake, I'm going to have chocolate cake. If I want a bagel, I'm going to have a bagel. If I want to go to Taco bell, I will go. I just plan it into my day.
