So, my sister-in-law and i were talking about how we'd like to get into shape, and I also have a 5K that I want to do in January. The 5K is not just running, it's also about endurance (and outrunning zombies). I did it last May and finished in 1 hour and 35 min. I walked almost the whole way because I was out of shape, but this year i'd like to be able to run it and not feel like i'm gonna die before I get up the first hill. I have 61 lbs to lose. It can be done safely by July, I just have to work hard. I've used every excuse in the book to not to it, but it just leaves me on the couch feeling like a fat ass and not happy with the way I look. I've already lost 75 lbs, so I know I CAN do it...now i just HAVE TO do it!
I think it will help me knowing that my husband is also trying to get healthy. So, even if I just do it to support him...whatever the motivation...i'm just gonna do it!

UUGGGGHHH! I'm feeling like a total fat ass! Have been pretty much living on ben & jerry's ice cream and cheese doodles. Stress eating my way through Reproductive Health and challenging work days. I can't take it anymore, I feel like crap!
So, I've broken up with Ben and Jerry. Ended my relationship cold turkey!! I'm craving it though, but I know that will go away after a few weeks.
I was eating pop secret homestyle popcorn, with extra melted butter on top. I ended that as well. The past two days I've had my bag of popcorn sans the extra butter, i did put a little parmesan cheese on it though. But, small steps. My goal is 14 pounds. Well, that is my short term goal anyway. Just 14 pounds. I don't care how long it takes, but I actually am going to have to work to get it off. I'll worry about the rest of the weight after that.
The funny thing is that I feel GREAT when I exercise and eat well. I'm energized and I feel strong. So, why do I continuously turn to eating crap. It doesn't make me strong, it doesn't make me feel good. It gives me immediate satisfaction of having something sweet or fatty and salty. But, then I feel awful, mentally and physically after.
So, here's to staying strong and eating strong and being strong! 14 pounds, off ya go!
