Feeling blah lately. Looking back at pictures and journals and really trying to wrap my brain around embracing healthy eating and exercise habits. I know what I need to do, I just can't seem to find the spark to ignite a fire to drive me onto road I need to take. I keep making excuses, and putting off until the next day, then the next. Then I find myself trying to make others my scapegoat! I've actually told myself that I would exercise if my spouse would just help me...how is that fair, since when was my weight his resposibility. I need to buck up and own the fact that I got myself here, and I am the ONLY person that can get myself outta this endless cycle. I know I can do this...

I knew that my eating had snow balled, and suspected that I was nearing, if not already at my all time high. Another nurse and I decided to weigh ourselves and the magic groan inducing numbers 222.2 popped up. I was 12.8 lbs away from my heaviest weight. My naturally trim and healthy husband had also gained some weight, he was at his all time high! I know my sugary indulgences were rubbing off on him. That morning when I got off work my husband and I made a pact. We were gonna completely cut out ALL sugars, added, fake, and natural (honey, maple syrup), no processed foods would come into our house. And so far so good, all I have done is cut out the sugar. I haven't even started my exercise routine yet. I prepare healthy breakfast casseroles with protein and fiber to last us a few days, cook dinner, keep a giant bowl of mixed salad in the fridge, and fruits handy. I flavor our water with mint, ginger, lemons, or oranges. He's lost about 8 lbs now. This is the first time that we have both been committing to eating healthy, and it really has made a difference having my partner on board.
