Hi

I'm 29 and live in Durham (in the UK) with my hubby and my cute little cat.
Recently I've gained so much weight. I can only fit into one pair of jeans and my tracksuit bottoms... I'm so ashamed!

Me and my hubby have been undergoing IVF, which has been incredibly stressful and it lead me to gorge on comfort food. After starting with the IVF hormone treatment, I just ballooned. I did get pregnant (which was the best feeling in the world), but sadly I miscarried a few weeks ago. We were devastated and this lead me to eat even more, and drink a whole lot of wine too!

Anyhoo... now I'm at my heaviest weight ever, but I'm determined not to buy any bigger clothes.

I'm going on holiday to Skiathos in July and I want to look reasonable in a bikini by then. I also start a fresh course of IVF at the end of July, this time I want to be ready to deal with it without turning to junk food.

I'm currently following my version of the Atkins, where I have between 20-50 grams of carbs per day. I'm not really one for exercise, but I enjoy a brisk walk now and again. I'm hoping to be 145lbs by the end of July... but I maybe I'm expecting a little bit too much from myself.

Unfortunatley, the pic isn't me (I actually think its Jennifer Aniston) but I find it insperational. I think I'll add a pic of me when I've lost some weight.

low carb protein shakes
Thanks for your advice.
I want to have a protein shake for convenience really. Most mornings I don't want want to get up early to cook bacon and eggs before I go to work. I'm not really a cooked breakfast fan so the shakes should be a great alternative source of protein.

low carb protein shakes
I'm currently on the Atkins diet and I'm considering buying some form of protein powder to make breakfast shakes (made with water and a small amount of heavy cream). I've never bought anything like this before and there's so many types... whey protein, soy protein, spirinula (what ever that is, lol). The majority are very low carb, Does anyone know which one is the best to get because I don't have a clue!
I did read somewhere that soy shakes didn't taste very nice or mix well, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience with these powders.

P.S. I'm from the UK, so our brand names may be different to the US versions.

439kcal!?! Really?
Hmmm... Im not sure really. It seems a little bit high to me. I know that desk work is also classed as an activity. I sit at a desk all day at work, but I'm not going to add this, as I dont feel like I use many more calories at work than when Im at home watching TV.

Hopefully someone with a more info will come along soon. I'll also be interested to see if I should be recording desk work as an activity.
