I think losing weight is a state of mind as well as wanting to lose weight for health reasons or just to look gooooood. I know I need to drop weight, have known for years. But I dont have the mind set like I used to. Of course, I could drop weight so easily when I was younger. It takes more work these days and I have to learn to maintain the weight lose more than a year or two. my motivation: I was eating at Ryan's buffet not to long after discovering Fatsecret. I usually eat til I virtually almost pass out. But after my first plate, I waited and talked with my family. I started to notice the overweight people fixin their plates. They, like me on many visits before, had their plates stacked to high heaven. One lady, while sitting down eating had looked like she was just a bit overweight. but when she stood up to go with her family, I was shocked at how large she actually was. I realized that if i dont get control of my weight problem, that could be me sooner than I thought. The good thing was after letting some time pass, I was actually full. My kids were both surprised I stopped at one plate and no desert yet! Before I always felt I had to eat my money's worth. And where did that get me? Feeling miserable for the rest of the day. it is true that a journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step....Here I go!
