I actually had a good weekend. I truly am learning how to make better decisions. And my extended family seems to be supportive. The family got together at mom's for dinner Saturday night. One of my sisters made dessert - an apple pie. She specifically made it with me in mind and made sure it didn't have lots of sugar. I had a very small piece and instead of putting the vanilla ice cream on top like everyone else was eating, I put one dollop of whip cream. We also had wine with dinner. I did a lot of gardening earlier that day, trimming bushes, hoeing and raking, so I knew I had a good workout. And I actually loss weight! Who would have thought I could have a glass of wine and a piece of apple pie and still lose weight!?! I am learning!!! The best part is that I've been struggling with getting to my 10 pound loss and I finally did it! So here's my new insight. The importance of exercise! In some form. It doesn't have to be conventional exercise, as long as I get some good movement going. So plan, plan, plan and move, move, move! This is great! I am feelin good -- can ya tell?

I have't been eating all my calories the past couple days. So of course there's no difference in my weight. I will eat better today.

The weekends seem to be harder than during the week. I felt like I had a never ending pit on Saturday and then on Sunday I didn't feel like eating. I was hoping to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks, but I sure did come close. At least I'm going in the right direction.

I ate so well yesterday! I read last night and got some more great tips. Believe it or not I think watching Anthony Bordain on TV has also helped me. Just seeing how some of the people around the world eat and the different cultures is remarkable. I see how both the Italian and French enjoy their meals tremendously. They have such a love of food and wine and community. Eating slowly--eating with people you care for--and enjoying a glass of red wine sounds good to me!
