I have not been doing everything I should be doing. It's not just the "diet." I haven't slept properly in months. Yesterday, I bought some nicotine gum because I noticed that one of the things that has been making me wake up is an aching in my chest...and my doctor JUST told me a few days ago that if I quit smoking now at this age, my lungs will repair themselves within a few years. so, I hope the gum does its thing and keeps me off the cigarettes so I can get back on the treadmill and avoid eating a ton of extra food while I come off the smokes. And maybe my chest will feel better, too.
My exercise habits are basically non-existent. I hope it will become easier to do things after a few days of not smoking.
This kid I work with asked me if I was pregnant a couple of days ago. I told him I wasn't, and asked if I looked fatter, and he said yeah. Great.

So the multitude of vacations and the birthday have not been kind to my mid-section. I haven't bothered to keep track of what I've been eating during this whole time period. Since my new job starts in a couple of weeks and I can't wear dresses any more (which are so comfy when you have a bit of extra weight) I'm going to put a lot of energy into jump-starting this the right way.
