I am a 41 year old mother of two and grandmother of 1. I live in Tennessee with my husband and son and very near my daughter and granddaughter. I love food. I'm lucky I have a good metabolism or I would get heavier than I do because I enjoy eating a lot.

Hitting 30 made losing weight harder and those little pounds have been adding up... then hitting 40 more came along and it got harder still to lose.

I am loving the Fat Smash Diet. Co workers, friends and family have noticed my weight loss and others are asking to borrow my book now.

New to the Fat smash diet
Fruits, veggies, oatmeal, brown rice, yogurt, and lots and lots of water. I did eat lots of bean... but technically I guess beans would be considered a veggie?

The 9 days were much easier than I expected... except giving up the coffee.

Good Luck!

CAFFEINE!!!
Giving up coffee was the thing that scared me about Fat Smash too. I warned everyone around me that I was going to be without coffee for 9 days My husband and my boss both feared for their lives and the lives of others. But it really wasn't that bad. As a matter of fact when my hubby took me out to eat on day 6 and I started over detox (because I'm very anal and had to do a full 9 days of detox by the book) I actually went 15 days with no coffee. When that was over I did start making coffee again in the morning but only one cup and decaf. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected but I did have to take motrin for a few days for withdrawl headaches.

I now will occassionally have a cup at work that isn't decaf but it isn't everyday.

You will be fine. Bad Grin

Extreme Fat Smash Diet
I can't really compare regular FS to the EFS. I have read information on the EFS on the internet and know that it is much more structured... basically telling you exactly what you are to eat daily for a number of days (21 I think?). Where as the regular Fat Smash tells you what is and isn't allowed and leaves the what to eat up to you. I have done very well on the regular Fat Smash. I am not a person who loses weight easily and I have lost weight with Fat Smash. I don't know if I could have stuck with the EFS as I can see how I would get totally thrown off if I was missing something that was required for some specific meal or snack.

Good Luck!

getting started
Get into your closet and find something that you really like that you can't get into or that you can get into but is too tight to fit right. That always motivates me. I fortunately kept a pair of jeans in a size 7 for well over a decade. They are way outta date and I wouldn't dare wear them but they do serve as a good motivator!

Good luck!

Walking DVDs or Tapes
I bought one of Leslie Sansone's Walking Away the Pounds DVD's right after Christmas. I have been doing it a few times a week and really like it. I am doing the 4 mile challenge but I know she has 1, 2, 3 and I think 5 mile ones too.

I like it and and it has helped me with my weight loss goal. I would recommend her DVD's. It isn't boring at all.

Good Luck!
