Opened the door this morning to another 5 inches which is unusual when it's this cold. Low tonight is minus 72 with the wind chill! The cattle are circled up and voicing their unhappiness. It's a very melancholy sound that carries for miles in the cold, clear sky.

Really didn't want to go into town, but we both had doctors appointments. I've been having problems with my right eye. Found out I have a crease in my retina and an infection. The grand kids have that new strep variant and are pretty ill. Mom had a difficult time getting amoxicillin for them. I find that scary and so totally unacceptable.

We have lots of very wealthy neighbors. They just love buying up real estate. Plus I think they enjoy the scenery. Anyway, the the Italian movie stars are selling their mansion on the other side of the lake. Wonder who will buy it? Having a small "range war". The CFO of a large fortune 500 company cut the fence of the COO of another fortune 500 company. No rifles. Going to be settled in court.

Wishing everyone a safe and, hopefully warm, holiday season.

One down and the pieces to complete another 11 cards. I think this is a pretty card, but it is time consuming to make. It's been very cold and snowy so making Christmas cards keeps me busy. We probably have 3 feet of snow on the level.

Whatever cold that's going around is wicked. Our youngest son was sick for 2 weeks and he rarely gets sick. Now my husband caught it. Keeping my fingers crossed I don't come down with it. Got the Microban spray out and wiped down all the door handles.

Am pretty much ready for Christmas. Just need to go out and cut a tree to decorate and wrap gifts. I used to coordinate the gift wrap with the color/theme of my tree and decorations. Now I like to use gift bags and tissue paper. There are so many gifts to wrap and my arthritis in my wrists is becoming more bothersome.

The battery in my scale died so I wasn't weighing as I should. Well I stepped on this morning and, surprisingly, I haven't gained.

Winter has arrived. Thankfully the wind has moved on. It's cold, but not a problem. The forecast is for 3-5 additional inches. Most of us have acclimated to the new season. Can't say the same for those new to the state. They build beautiful homes in the mountains with long scenic drives. Then the complaining commences. What do you mean the mail isn't delivered right to my door? What do you mean I have to deal with my garbage? Well, you do what the rest of us do. Pay for private pick up service or buy a truck and make a dump run. Why isn't my drive plowed? Put a plow on that truck you bought for dump runs. The worst thing is they don't know how to drive on snow packed roads. That's dangerous. Took me 3x longer to get into town the other day. Out of state vehicle inching along at 20 mph on the longest straight stretch of road. No passing allowed on this stretch. Or I would have.

My sister has been very ill and this is her second week in the hospital. She's improving, but it's going to be a bit of tough go for her. Like she told me good thing we're from hardy Viking stock.

So I really have not been into measuring or logging. Have to settle down and get my act together.
