Did not walk today. Grandson here. he wanted asparagus and greens for lunch. I sent him out to pick spinach and kale and he came back with one handful. Sent him out for more and we ended up with enough to cook for one person. I let him eat it all. Any time a 16 year old wants to eat greens, he needs to be encouraged! He also pretty much grazed all day -- oh to be a teenager and able to eat anything and everything all day long! I made chocolate covered pretzles, with sugar free chocolate chips. They weren't sweet but he ate a lot of them -- me too! Twas a good day!

Walking daily. Tuesday walked 1.2 miles in 35 minutes, with fewer rest stops. Back is giving me less pain. Gardening daily. Taking pre- and pro-biotics is cutting my appetite, and I am having fewer cravings for sweets.

Walked 2495 steps in 35 minutes today. Haven't measured for sure, but that is close to a mile. I started walking again May 1 as a challenge. Skipped Sunday because not feeling well. I'll measure the distance next time the car goes that route and see where the half mile turn around is. Distance from house to highway is .6 and I'm getting closer to that each day. Tripped and fell several weeks ago and have been having back aches. Nothing broken, just taking a while to recuperate. That old ground is really hard when doing a belly flop! Visiting my chiropractor more frequently!
Breakfast was Keto mocha coffee with MCT powder. Lunch was turkey stirfry with asparagus and English peas from my garden. Mid-afternoon snack: frozen leftover chocolate blueberry smoothie.

55th anniversary today. We always celebrate by eating at Red Lobster. Sometimes we see a play at the Community Theater, but tonight we just came back home, too stuffed from those delicious cheese biscuits, clam chowder and other sea food!!! I ate a half order of New Orleans salmon, with broccoli and cole slaw. Hubby ate 1/2 the admirals platter and brought the rest home to eat tomorrow.
I worked 4 hours at the library today. I only volunteer one day a month now -- not quite ready to just let it go! It's hard to step away from a job I've spent nearly 50 years enjoying.
No time for gardening today, but it is waiting for me tomorow.

Morning weight: 169.6 (undressed)/ weight in Dr's office: 169.4, dressed, with shoes. (so my home scales are about 2 lbs heavier than dr. office)
My goal was to be at 165 for this check up and A1c of 6.5. I missed both of them. A1c was 7.3. So I will continue to work on both. All my other tests were in range, so I'm fairly happy with the results.
Picked my first English peas yesterday and enjoying them for supper tonight with more mixed greens and fish filet. Breakfast was keto coffee mocha. Lunch at Cracker Barrel. I ate broccoli and green beans and only half of the chicken. Brought the rest home to eat tomorrow. Baked a spaghetti squash this evening for tomorrow.
Having a cool week, but enjoying it and the rain. It will heat up soon enough here in north Texas.
