This is me with the canine love of my Life. Her name is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (after the Elton John version of the song}. She goes by Lucy and has been dubbed "LucyFur" (get it?) by friends because she comes across as aggressive, but in all honesty I believe she is trying to talk!
She is a Chiweenie, a first generation cross of a Chihuahua and a Standard (not Mini)Dachshund. I color bred American Cocker Spaniels and German Shepherds for years (and showed them in conformation and HAD a box of ribbons to prove it), so the possibilities of crossbreeding in this case are tempting and fascinating to me. But I am getting her spayed. She is 3 now and it's past time.
She is with me 24/7 and is absolutely the best, smartest, and most responsive animal I have ever owned.

Me with the cowardly fiance who ran away and left me in a bad situation that I escaped from 2 weeks later with the help of my son. I kept the photo really because I can't believe my FACE. Jesus... it's so BIG.
He was 12 years younger than me, and the two years we lived together were great. Just one of those things that was not meant to be. I really don't mind not having a partner. My dead husband of 33 years was a mentally abusive narcissist, and I quickly learned that I was the sole captain of my life. Still healing from those years.

Here are some before and after photos for you. I am now 7 pounds less than my after picture. Need more than one after photo! Will work on that!
