Longer fasts are the way to go for me. I'm 64 hours in and don't feel as hungry as I did on the alternate day fasts I tried. Went to the gym, did my lazy day treadmill. (Son is still training for boot camp so I adjust to his schedule for now) Today was the kid's stretch and run day so shorter workouts on those days. After my 20 minutes I did my total body thing and we went home. Most days I do not want to go but we do and I feel better afterwards. 3 days a week are weights/machines and 2 (sometimes 3) days are cardio with the treadmill. I'm still planning a longer fast as long as I feel okay. If that changes so will my plans. It will still take a long while to get to my end goal but that's life.

1.2 lb loss. Not great but not horrible. I can not do the alternate day fasting. It's way too hard. I can have less hunger doing an extended fast. So I'm fasting this week until at least Friday. I started yesterday and will end who knows when. Married for 24 years today. Anniversary dinner will wait until the son's birthday coming up. I do not want to spend money eating out right now. So we will combine and only spend once. GKI needs to go lower but my glucose is usually high in the a.m., ketones are a little light this morning. Oh well.

The alternate day fasting (adf) thing is so much harder than just fasting for 4 days. I can't do it on a regular basis. 16/8 fasting was fine and I'm great with that. But I'm better off not eating for 3 to 4 days straight than every other day. It's a lot harder every other day. So next week will be fasting for at least 96 hours maybe more and not adf. This week I'm calling a bust for the fasting and will start fresh Monday. I'll still do 16/8 and my normal woe just not the adf.
I actually bought myself an eating treat this week. Not off my woe but because the price is usually high I don't get it often since I'm the only who eats it here. I got a bag of frozen sea scallops and yummy! I don't usually get anything that's just for me. Hubby and I will split a steak (the boy won't eat them, he microwaves a hot dog instead) and maybe once in a while I'll grab a cheap bag of shrimp on sale but hardly ever something expensive. I have to remember it's okay to treat myself every once in a while. We hardly ever eat out and I cook almost all nights and even when I don't it it will be something I already made earlier (either canned myself or made extras and froze)
I'm starting my garden now (2nd growing season here starting) for some green beans, tomatoes, peppers, and maybe some cucumber or zucchini. The beginning of this year was a bust for me. So I didn't have my garden this year. I had one last year at my mom's even and she hated it. She couldn't see the point. Just buy it she said. But now I'm home with hubby and he's excited for fresh beans. He loves them. Garden beds all prepped and waiting for fresh seeds. I set up my aerogarden to start the tomato seeds when they get here (I wanted Oaxacan tomatoes and had to order) so I can transplant seedlings. I also ordered San Marzano seeds and can't wait to grow and can them. They have to be transplanted also. One of my other aerogardens is already starting the peppers. (I may have an aerogarden problem, I think I have 7 now only 2 bought new)

Fasted for 40 hours this time. The longer fast I did last week may have been easier than this one. You start planning your food sooner and thinking about food more. I was hungrier than the longer fast. I decided to switch up alternate day fasting with 4-5 day fasting. 2 weeks and then switch. So I'll have around 1800 calories or so today and stop eating by 8 p.m. tonight and skip tomorrow and then eat again Thursday at noon and keep repeating for a total of 2 weeks. I want to see the difference in fasting methods on mood, weight, workouts, blood sugar, ketones, and so on. I might keep doing the most effective one until my son graduates boot camp in late November/ early December. I do not want him hearing your momma so fat jokes because they'll stick around in the military. After he graduates then I'll slow down the weight loss to a sustainable plan. What I'm doing now is NOT sustainable and I do know that. I can do it for a few more months and then it would be overkill. But it is possible to do for a little while to get down in size quicker. Normally I'm of the opinion that it took time to put it on, it will take time to take it off but sometimes there are goals at a certain time and you push harder for a short while and then go back to your new normal way. I like fasting so I won't give that up but it may be a 5 days a month instead of days per week or 24 hour fasts 3x a week. I'm not sure yet and I have time to decide.
I made coconut flour fathead bagels last night so I could have one today. They were alright, not a bagel though. I'm going to throw the rest in the freezer and use them a pizza bases for nights I don't want to cook. I have a few individual bases in the freezer already but I'll use these quicker I think. I like the size better and the way they puffed some while cooking more than the other ones I have. Besides who doesn't like pizza bagels.
I ordered some pickle ice pops that should be here later this week because I have just about drunk my pickles dry in the fridge. I like pickle juice after or before workouts, I should just buy a gallon container of the juice but don't want to spend the money without knowing if it's any good. If I don't like the pops I can give the rest (still sealed) away to a few people I know.
Sorry so long today but it's my journal and I wanted think out in my typing.

5.2 pounds gone for the week. Fasting for that long wasn't as hard I thought it would be. This week is alternate day fasting. Stopped at 8 p.m. Sunday, start again Tuesday at noon. Continue the other days,i.e. no food Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday.
I want to see the difference in weight loss and in hunger.
