Entering my third decade I look at myself in the mirror (though not fondly) and realize that I'm better than this. I know my weight doesn't make me a bad person but I see it as an honest reflection of how lazy I've become.
I weighed in here at 218 and wonder how I got here. At my heaviest I was 230 about 7 years ago and then I met a woman who I briefly (2 years is brief?) dated but with her as my exercise partner went from my then current weight of 198 all the way down to 158 losing weight first with Weight Watchers and then the Atkin's diet.
That was 5 years ago. Over the last 5 years my weight rebounded back to 218, 60 lbs. heavier! It has effected everything in my life from the seriousness with which my ideas at work are taken to my libido. Now I'm in an emotionally healthy relationship but have come to a point where I constantly feel tired. The last straw was last week when I dug out my fat pants only to find that they were tight.
Now I'm committed to taking off this excess weight for several reasons including my desire to get another tattoo. I don't know how long it will take but last time it was about a year and a half. I know with the wonderful support fatsecret.com provides it will be even easier than last time.

Peace

I need some help
Think of your feet as the trunk of a tree. They are your foundation and when they are compromised everything else goes out of whack. Foot problems can cause knee and back pain and even headaches. I would suggest, if this is a chronic problem, looking into alternatives such as reflexology or accupuncture. You said you're taking steroids and I'll use prednisone as an example whether that's what you're taking or not. Prednisone messes with your blood glucose levels pretty hardcore making a stable diabetic brittle, and causing cravings and mood swings you don't normally have. Also in the event that you can stop taking it, it's important to have your MD titrate the dose because sudden withdrawals can cause tremors that migrate through your body before they subside. My father just went from 120mg a day to nothing over the period of a month and still had issues. One more tip, buy several different pairs of shoes you can be active in and change them every couple of hours. I find that even when I'm not on my feet, my feet feel better over the long term if I keep them on. Good luck to you! You can overcome this!
