Oh no!! I've gained 5 pounds back. :( I know what caused the gain though, it's cordial cherries season and those are the thing that I can't resist this time of year. When I was younger I could polish off a whole box by myself, now, when I buy them (I have to be honest, the past couple of weeks I've been buying them every single night), I share one box with my two children, so I only eat 3 out of the box. The calories do add up though when you eat them every night. I haven't bought them for over a week though, I've been trying to lay off of them.

Another beautiful day for walking, and I'm taking advantage of it. I walked a mile yesterday and almost a mile today with my daughter. It's hard to believe that it's Dec. 1. I'm going to get out and do some more yard work in a minute and then sit down and make my niece and her daughters some Christmas gifts. I'm planning on going to the rec center 3 days a week starting tomorrow and working out on their machines and swim. I'm actually looking forward to it.

I survived another pig out holiday. We had a small family dinner here at home on Thanksgiving day with just my husband and kids, then on the day after we went to a friends house where she had a major homemade dinner. It was like going to a buffet style restaurant, that's how much she made. I think I did really well. I tried to choose the healthiest foods on the menu and left the rich, creamy foods alone. Usually on holidays I tend to pile my plate up so high I can't see the plate thru the food, but this year, I could see a lot of the small disposable plate with what I had. I did have a small piece of pumpkin and a small piece of sweet potato pie for dessert tho. I'm hoping Christmas will go just as smooth.

It's time for me to get back on track and begin exercising again. I'm feeling much better in all aspects of my health so I have no excuses now not to exercise. My knee is doing so well that I am done going to the orthopedic surgeon for check ups. I don't have to go back to him for a whole year, unless, of course, something happens. I go back to the stomach doctor, hopefully for the last time, next month. Time to get off my butt and start exercising again.

I've been dealing with quite a few medical problems the last month or two and luckily, the meds are beginning to help. I was diagnose with a severe gastric ulcer recently and today I got a diagnoses of Barrett's Esophagus. Now I know the two main reasons I've been getting sick. The treatment, or recommendation, for the Barrett's is to avoid fatty and acidic foods, alcohol, peppermint, coffee/tea, and chocolate. I can pretty much avoid all of those except for the chocolate. I'm too much of a chocoholic, but I will make an attempt to cut back on the amount I do eat. On a much better note, my knee has healed well from my surgery back in Sept. Physical therapy is over with now but the therapist gave me a free one month membership to our local rec center so I can continue with my exercises. And I will start going after Thanksgiving, I have way too much stuff to do this week.
