I am plugging away and learning to correct my mistakes as I go. No snack bars for now and trying to cut out all diet drinks. I gained 1.5 lbs. This week I am going to concentrate on eating all my veggies and walking more. I got on thescale this morning and I had lost 3.5 lbs. since yesterday which put me in Onederland so I was happy. My brother and husband lost about. 4 lbs. each but my sister-in-law gained 1.5 lbs. this week. My sister and another friend are doing great. Yesterday I went to a potluck and found plenty of safe foods to eat includding the low carbon desserts that my husband made. They were great and I was pleased because I chose the recipes. We are going to go walk now. Have a terrific Sunday!

I am doing well since I restarted Atkins but I haven't been doing it perfectly yet. I still have a hard time eating enough veggies but I am determined this time to conquer that problem. I lost 8 lbs. in this first two weeks but I was eating Atkins snack bars that weren't on Induction instead of eating all my veggies. I also have to quit drinking diet drinks. The aspartame in them is bad for me and I'm using up too many daily carbs on them. One day this week I drank 6 or 7 diet drinks. That is insane! Yesterday I was down to three a day and today I'm hoping to keep it at two. Unfortunately since I woke up at 2:47 this morning and couldn't fall back asleep I have already had my two drinks. No morning snack bar though. My brother and his wife are doing excellent but have had a couple of carb overages that slowed their weight loss. We talked about the problems and they are working hard to fix them. My brother's blood sugars are almost perfect since he started Atkins which is awesome because he already lost some eyesight due to his diabetes and very much needs to keep his blood sugars low so he doesn't lose more eyesight. My sister is starting the program today too. We will all support each other. We are cooking several meals together each week and that helps a lot. Mostly we try new recipes so we can find some great new ones. I am trying to encourage them and myself to do a daily walk. I want to get back to my exercise videos too.
I feel full and only have cravings for diet drinks and those Atkins bars. No other sugar cravings thank God. I guess I'll go try to nap a bit before I go out for lunch and a movie this afternoon.

My brother has been on Atkins with me for a week and three days. His MD knows he is on a low garb diet and did not suggest changing anything. My brother read something online that said Atkins damages kidneys. Does anyone know ably ketones and ketoacidosis and how they might. Apply here? My brother was taking 4000 Mg of GLucophagee and had out of control disbbetes before he triied Atkins.Also our mom had unknown caused kidney damage. Any info. out there?
