Just came back from the Outer Banks, stayed at Oak Island for our 45th hunniemoon! Dodged the hurricane that blew past us and was able to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the area! Walked the beach with the pup, collected sea shells went fishing on the Pier caught nada! But it was a delightful day with the sun shining and the wind in our faces, watched some surfers try to ride a wave or two (must be after the tail end of all those winds coming thru!) Took a tour at the Oak Island Lighthouse climbed to the top and had a spectacular view of the ocean and the inland tidal waters. The lighthouse is the only one of its kind in the USA that has LADDERS, not a spiral staircase. So we climbed and climbed and climbed. It was exhausting as it was 17 steps up and go around and 17 steps up, over and over until we reached the top. There was 10 people with various abilities but I took my time and realized I am going to DO THIS because I am here to experience it all! A very patient guide named Connie was so wonderful and chatted and encouraged me. She does this once a week and told me it took her a while to get the hang of it. So I felt good knowing that it is a process. Went on a guided kayak tour on the Rice Creek, Emily was a great guide and she loved her job of giving us a history of the watershed and how to preserve all its beauty! We have friends in the area that just retired and downsized to a lovely home in the area so they made us a lovely dinner and conversation! Next day hubby grilled some yummy top sirlion steaks for our anniversary dinner with all the fixins yum! I am so blessed to be with this beautiful, compassionate man that has been patient, understanding, loving and kind all these years! He has been my best friend and I LOVE growing old with him as we enjoy all the adventures we have shared can't wait for the next 45 years whoo hoo!

Life is looking the same old same old and I am so grateful for the loss if ups and downs that was part of my thought process! Just keeping a gratful heart and staying connected to family and friends wih purpose and serenity! We are all on a great adventure of living a life that can be fullfilling and wonderful! Triangle woman opened my eyes to understanding how I react to eating and it is a mind body connection that I was lost in this journey! I am more present and realize that I WILL NOT STARVE FROM ONE MEAL TO THE NEXT! I have said this to myself for years but never truly FELT this until I understood the "Cephalic Phase Response" and blew my mind! If you are struggling with "dieting" this may be of help, it opened the door to my realtionship with food and how it had POWER of me and now I truly realize that food is just a fuel for me to be present and aware of the life I am meant to have. Be soft and gentle to yourself love what you are and enjoy this rich and wonderful journey you are on. This is my love story that is unfolding every day and it is exciting to be fully aware that I am a strong powerful woman! Its all GOOD!
