The weekend went better than expected. I ate and drank after 7pm. I tried to limit my snacking to a minimum, and didn't eat any snacks between meals. I was able to drink all my water throughout the day, and some in the evening between cocktails. My early morning walks were a special treat. I had my daughter with me, and the path along the lakeshore is so beautiful. All in all, it was a great way to finish off the camping season.

This weekend is going to be my first real challenge. We're going camping, and we eat diffrently,and drink quite a bit. In fact, we eat very little in the way of veggies and fruit. Mostly, we eat meat and bread. Burgers and buns, sausages and buns, steak on a bun!! I'm going to pack healthier choices and incorporate salads into my meals.
Alcohol is another story!I have lots of bottled water packed, so we'll see...

I'm eating enough to feel full. I'm eating whole foods, fruits, vegetables, and less red meat. But, I'm not getting all the RDI of calories. Not sure what this means. I can't eat more, just to make up the calories, but I don't want to burn out either.
Steve is starting to ask questions. He's curious about what I'm eating, and why they don't look like any diet meals he's seen. I guess he thought I was going to live on lettuce and celery!!I'm hoping, by the end of the month, he'll be actively involved in his own healthy changes.
I feel good about what I'm doing! It's something my body, and mind needs. Have needed for a long time.I know this is only day 2 of week 2, but so far this is the longest my motivation has lasted in a few years.I've started writing in a journal every night before bed too. that one is for some of my rather personal thoughts, that I'm not ready to share with anyone yet! They are the things that have been going through my mind at warp speed for a very long time. I feel there is much more going on inside me, than the desire to change the way I look and feel physically!

Feeling better about how I'm eating. I need energy to keep me going through the day, but I also need to feel full between meals. I allow myself 2 snacks each day. If I'm having dessert with dinner, then one snack. One of those snacks has to be a fruit or vegetable. Wish I knew how to calculate calories burned for the activities I do everyday that aren't on the list here. I'm going to start including my time at the sewing table as part of my desk work, and any work I do around the building as housework. Except yard work, because there is a listing for that.! Tomorrow, I'm increasing my walk time to 45 minutes, and increasing my pace.

I like this plan better. I can have foods I like, and still lose weight. If I don't feel good about what I'm eating, I may be tempted to cheat, or sneak. This way, I can learn to eat the things I like, how much to eat, and feel full at the end of the day. With tis knowledge, and a good exercise program, I will still meet my goals, and maintain my sense of well-being and accomplishment.
