This is day 5 of being on the Atkins diet and in control of my eating habits again. I love it..I have so much energy. I am eating my healthy breakfast and then off to go ride my bike to the gym and do circuit training for a half hour. Life is good.

My Third day on the Atkins diet. It's getting better, less cravings for sweets. I discovered Barbeque pork rinds, it satisfies the crunch need. they also taste so delicious. I also discovered sf Jello with some real whip cream, I never new jello could taste so good. I purchased truvia sugar free substitute. I have always used at least 2 to 3 tsps of real sugar in my coffee. I hate the taste of fake sugar. Truvia is not that bad though. I did lose another pound today. So it looks like an average of a pound a day. I also discovered subway salad with roast beef and avocado, it was so tasty and you don't need dressing, the avocado takes the place of that. Next time I am adding a little lime or lemon juice to it. I am hanging in there. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

This the second day being on Atkins. I am finding it a little bit easier. wasn't sure about how much I should eat. a fellow Nurse who is on the same diet let me know last night when I am hungry I can eat as long as minimal carbs are involved and I stay with in the carb allowance. so last night at work I had 4 oz of turkey breast and 2 sting cheese. I hadn't realized that I can eat after my 5 meals. Especially at work I am moving constantly and needed some energy. I split the 4 oz and cheese into two mini meals. I think, I know I can do this. I am understanding it more. I am worried about all this fat I am eating and cholesterol. After all I have always taken pride in not over indulging in these areas and also being a Nurse know that it's not a good thing. I am not totally convinced I am doing the right thing for my body. at the same time I am thinking it's only to get my metabolism working again.

I have officially started the Atkins diet today. I have had my breakfast which consisted of 2 eggs, 1/2 cup peppers, 4 slices of Turkey bacon and black pepper and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. for lunch I had 2 cups of salad greens with a spray of olive oil and spray on of balsamic vinegar. 1 can of Tuna for lunch with tablespoon of chopped onion and 1 tablespoon of olive oil mayonnaise.
