It seemed only honest to track the results of my holiday eating/lack of exercise on New Year's Day. With the rest of America, this week will hopefully act as a catalyst to get back on the healthy living wagon. Never going to break 150, much less my 140 goal if I don't get serious. And getting in shape for strength-building needs to be priority #1.#1. Vacation is over; back to work.

Holiday Eating! So I gave myself a little too much credit for self-control on Thanskgiving, and let loose while family was in town. Last week before they came I was down to 150! Then a week of Mexican food, pumpkin bread and Christmas baking with eating out, and I'm back to 151.8. This is a good reminder that every bit counts, and that I'm going to have to be choosier about what I indulge in and more conscious to compensate with eating less at other meals and exercising more. Drat. Let's hope this week goes better.

My weight is holding steady, and my fat percentage is down very slightly, which seems amazing with all the junk food I've been eating. I'm hoping this new weight loss challenge and my attempted discipline will help me use this Advent season to prepare for Christmas and also get back into healthy living and good stewardship over my financial and physical resources (both of which are being injured by my eating out and buying junk food). Each day is a new chance to start making good choices, right?

I came out even (down very slightly) after Thanksgiving. I'm calling that a moral victory. Apparently Operation Moderation was mostly successful. Now if only I can do a little more moderation and a little less Everything, I might be able to lose weight instead of just holding steady. Still, since my usual annual pattern is to add 10lbs over the holidays, I'm claiming this victory (for now)!
