losing 0.1 lb a week
15 August 2015
I started the 5:2 program April 4 2015 when my weight had risen to 102.3
I am aiming for 72 kg and have dropped just over 10 kg since I started.
Only 2 days of 500 Kcals is not helpful enough for me. I often do 4:3.
However, this last week I was not able to do 3 days.
This is the best program for me. It really works because 500 Kcal days are still days with enough food to satisfy. Then the portions I have on the other days has improved by getting down to the correct reduced size. I stick to the program because I now scientifically and in detail know the benefits my body gleans each time I hold it to 500 kcals.
CF and I are doing it together and that helps as well. It is not gimmicky and the food is real, and processed by our little hands.

gaining 0.0 lb a week

It was harder this week. I stayed at my daughter's for 3 days and they love cheese and wine.... problem is: so do I. Tried to balance it out by walking but NOT a pleasant affair on the icy sidewalks (pavements as they call them here). Once home, treadmill and food when and as I need it, helped get back on track. The no eating after dinner challenge is a fun one. I have always done that on my own and never had heard of others feeling the same way. It charges me up to do/be more determined about following this strategy.

I just saw an article in the French newspaper "Le Monde" written by Marlene Duretz, Fri, Ja. 11, 2013; which mentioned FAT SECRET!!!!
"Pour perdre du poids, il faut d'abord savoir exactement ce que l'on mange. C'est sur ce principe cher a de nombreux nutritionnistes que repose le compteur de calories de l'application FatSecret." she quotes from the site lesapplicationsandroid.fr.
I have found the calorie counter much fun while at the same time informing me both in portions as well as ingredients. It helps me feel know that going without some food is fine.I eat VERY well, fish, vegies, water, fruit, whole grains, low salt, not much fat really, (Olive oil I love). My down fall is while or whisky, and some sweet stuff. It is really the quantity I eat and I have to up the movement....
