How do you "shop" at your market?
I try to have a basic list of things I need from the store before I go - usually things I've run out of or need for a recipe. I used to perimeter shop, but my usual store has renovated and made it a bit harder to find things. I buy freely of fruits and veggies and don't worry about following the list, if there is meat on sale I usually stockpile, then hit the dairy and bakery. I try to avoid the middle aisles unless I know what I need because I know I am a bit of impulse shopper when it comes to sweets - and since I'm just starting to think about what I'm eating I'm trying to avoid temptation. But my store has made it so I almost have to go up and down every aisle to find what I need to. But I might try a new farmer's market type store that is open all year round, and sells veggies, fruits and other healthier type food.
